Mormon settlements in Arizona.

An artificial collection of primary sources relating to the Latter-day Saint colonization efforts along the Little Colorado River and the surrounding area, and Tanner's correspondence. When processed, Tanner's materials were supplemented with other items from the Division's holdings. Materials were divided and sorted into the series now extant with no notation of provenance or original order. Items from a particular person may be divided if they regard more than one locality.

George S. Tanner began collecting materials on the early Arizona settlements in 1964. His first major project was the collection of the diaries of John Bushman. These diaries had been the source for John Bushman's Journal, which Bushman finished in 1918. Upon completion of the Journal, the diaries were scattered among family members in Utah, Arizona, and California. George S.
